There are several milestone events in the lives of the young people at St. Paul’s.
- Baptism
- First Communion
- Confirmation – Affirmation of Baptism
Baptized in a family of faith, the children in our community have many opportunities to grow in faith. Beginning at age three, children attend Sunday School and participate in the Jr. Lutherans program.
During their third grade year, children attend first communion classes and begin to partake of the Lord’s Supper.
Beginning at middle school age, our young people are encouraged to attend confirmation learning events where they read and study the Bible, discussing their thoughts and ideas with adults who serve as mentors to the group. Throughout the confirmation process, kids participate in various service projects.
This confirmation of faith culmates in an Affirmation of Baptism in which the kids are able to make a public proclamation of their faith within the community of believers.
Following confirmation, kids participate in the church’s LYO, Lutheran Youth Organization, which is part of the ELCA’s larger, nationwide LYO. Learn more about the ELCA’s national LYO.
